Every child deserves a fair start

A child who needs a winter coat, shoes that fit, or clean clothes for school carries that worry into the classroom. Neighbors Helping Students meets those basic needs with dignity and respect, and helps families stay stable when times get tough.

What we provide

New clothing and shoes. Every item is new, because every child deserves something that's truly theirs.

Household essentials. The everyday basics that keep a home running and kids healthy and ready for school.

Help staying stable. In limited cases, assistance to help families keep their housing and utilities, because learning starts with a stable home.

How it works

We partner with the people who know students best. School counselors and social workers identify children who could use a hand and refer them to us. We then work with the school to get each child what they need, quietly and respectfully.

Families: If your child could use support, talk with your school counselor or social worker. They can connect you with us.

Make a Donation

Your gift puts new shoes on a child's feet, a coat on their back, and one less worry in their day. Donations should be made payable to Neighbors Helping Students and can be mailed to 502 Schrock Rd, Columbus, OH 43229.
